WE ARE ON JANUARY 1ST 2025. A SCHOLAR MEETS A LIBERTARIAN FOR A LONG INTERVIEW. THE BILLIONAIRE IS DRUNK,  IN GOOD MOOD AND ACCEPTS TO ANSWER TO ANY QUESTION:”THE WAY IT IS”.

QUESTIONWho Are The Libertarians?

ANSWER:  Easy question: Libertarians see the individual as the basic unit of social analysis. Only individuals make choices and are responsible for their actions.

QUESTION:  Simple Or Simplistic?

We believe in simplicity.  Besides, all political philosophies start with one simple postulate. Take Karl Marx. He borrowed Aristotle’s famous postulate: "Men are political animals" because they are social beings with the ability to reason and communicate morals (common good). He and a flock of idealist political philosopher have made society the basic unity of social analysis.  This is stupid.

Ayn Rand was the first philosopher to formulate a Copernican revolution, a shift in scientific thought that placed the individual at the center of societies rather than the so called "common good"

She holds that the only moral course is pure self-interest. We owe nothing, she insists, to anyone, even to members of our own families. The world belongs to successful entrepreneurs who create wealth, that is in her times the 1%. What a woman!  Not a DEI. She dared say it as it is”. For a woman qua woman, the essence of  femininity is hero-worship—the desire to look up to man. “To look up” does not mean dependence, obedience or anything implying inferiority. It means an intense kind of admiration; and admiration is an emotion that can be experienced only by a person of strong character and independent” value-judgments. A “clinging vine” type of woman is not an admirer, but an exploiter of men. Hero-worship is a demanding virtue:

We know how to treat well women who deserve it. When she died in 1982  her body laid next to the symbol she had adopted as her own - a six-foot dollar sign..”

Dal New York Times

We owe her so much. She is the one who openly described the crux of society as what they are  "refuse" and "parasites". She is the first one who excoriated anyone seeking to assist them. Apart from the police, the courts and the armed forces, there should be no role for the government: no social security, no public health or education, no public infrastructure or transport, no fire service, no regulations, no income tax.  She educated her most fervent disciple Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States, who said it all  "“Justice is relentless. Creative [entrepreneurs] whose unyielding goal is rationality achieve the highest levels of joy and fulfillment. Parasites who persistently avoid this destiny perish… as they should.”The other part of the equation is that not only do creators deserve to be billionaires, but it would be suicidal for the United States to want to make them pay taxes that only serve to support parasites

Un articolo di The Guardian

The rule of the market IS  the solution. It should rule the individual and the corporations regarded as "individuals "  and must be protected legally as  Corporate personhood ( the legal concept that corporations have the same rights as people.) "  The individual is an "economic entity" entitled to property. So is a corporation” Both are free to compete, not encumbered by bureaucracies and other parasites. The best will emerge.

Milton Friedman and the Chicago boys of the school of economics made it very clear ...so clear that himself and a few of the boys got a Nobel Prize of Economics for their brilliant public choice theory (a way of studying politics that uses economic tools to analyze political behavior). It assumes that people are primarily motivated by self-interest, similar to how they act in the marketplace. I give you an example: elected democrats are hypocrites. They keep their jobs by claiming they help the beggars and moochers. You yourself who teach political philosophy are trying to keep your useless job which, when you think of it, teaches how to beg. That's why Elon Musk wants to slash universities. get rid of obsolete programs and focus on the useful one which helps economic growth.

QUESTION: Hold on! hold on!  you cannot let the market determine “who has what how and when

ANSWER: Of course we can better then ever  thanks to new technologies. Lady get out of the box "  Relax.  Why don't you believe in Spontaneous order? Yes, some degree of order in society is necessary for individuals to survive and flourish. It’s easy to assume that order must be imposed by a central authority, the way we impose order on a stamp collection or a football team. The great insight of libertarian social analysis is that order in society arises spontaneously

“Libertarianism is not libertinism or hedonism. It is not a claim that “people can do anything they want to, and nobody else can say anything.” Rather, libertarianism proposes a society of liberty under law, in which individuals are free to pursue their own lives so long as they respect the equal rights of others. The rule of law means that individuals are governed by generally applicable and spontaneously developed legal rules, not by arbitrary commands; and that those rules should protect the freedom of individuals to pursue happiness in their own ways, not aim at any particular result or outcome.

To survive and to flourish, individuals need to engage in economic activity. The right to property entails the right to exchange property by mutual agreement. Free markets are the economic system of free individuals, and they are necessary to create wealth. Libertarians believe that people will be both freer and more prosperous if government intervention in people’s economic choices is minimized.

Key Concepts of Libertarianism

QUESTION: “Spontaneous”! “organically”? where in hell did you get that one from? it smacks the poorly understood adam smith’s invisible hand or darwin’s so badly interpreted “ selection of the fittest”?

ANSWER: That's why we do not mention Adam Smith any longer. We have now this marvellous new technology far more capable than we were to connect billions of individuals with one another. It will allow us to communicate totally in what cryptocurrency investor and entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan calls “the network state.” The idea is that a virtual nation may form online before establishing any physical presence. Think of the network state like a tech startup company with its own cryptocurrency – instead of declaring independence and fighting for sovereignty, it first builds community and digital systems.

Let me add how grateful we are to Alvin Toffler who in "The Third Wave, predicted  the death of the “nation state”, and the rising in its place of "a strange new civilization" made of 7 billion individuals ready to unleash their creativity, (good by inference) a world characterized by smallness rather than bigness, a world of demassification of the media and customized hamburgers .  What a genius! a young generation dreamt of that customized hamburger.

Future shock revisited

QUESTION: Hello houston we have a problem! your utopia turned quickly into a dystopia

INDEED AT THE BEGINNING IT WAS GREAT “At the beginning networks were not “meant to be dominated by a few powerful players. The very selling point of networks lies in their decentralized nature, which promises greater resilience, and a more equitable distribution of power. Think of the initial utopian design behind the crypto economy: a vast decentralized network, immune to government interference, where relationships of power are replaced by incorruptible code.

“Yet the theoretical beauty of networks can quickly be undermined by human incentives. Redundancy, though vital for resilience, is expensive. After a while, networks tend to converge on a few central nodes that offer the cheapest path across. It also amounts to a winner-take-all outcome that goes squarely against early hopes for a flat, egalitarian world. Crypto is a case in point. From that early utopian ideal, the crypto economy has grown into an oligopoly ruled by a handful of big intermediaries, each one an obvious target for regulation. As recent events have shown, the collapse of a single one of these large firms can jeopardize the whole system.”

Weaponized Plumbing: On Henry Farrell and Abraham L. Newman’s “Underground Empire

In brief, a nation governed by a cryptocurrency-based system would no longer be run by the people living in its territory but by those who could afford to buy the digital currency. These will not feel one second responsible for the management of the territory (common good)

Let me then quote Isaiah Berlin again “If you are truly convinced that there is some solution to all human problems, that one can conceive an ideal society which men can reach if only they do what is necessary to attain it, then you and your followers must believe that no price can be too high to pay in order to open the gates of such a paradise. Only the stupid and malevolent will resist once certain simple truths are put to them. Those who resist must be persuaded; if they cannot be persuaded, laws must be passed to restrain them; if that does not work, then coercion, if need be violence, will inevitably have to be used—if necessary, terror, slaughter.”

ANSWER: That’s the beauty of our system

We can destroy our opponents by projecting and just pressing a button. For twenty years we have called them “stupid” “incompetent” or “malevolent”. Thanks to our marvellous new technology, we can falsify reality at the speed of the light. It has worked like cinch with Joe Biden and the Democrats. Nothing stuck on us, but did they get it back!

QUESTION: Then why don’t you call your beautiful spontaneous order” specncerism or social darwinism.

ANSWER: We do not like old words. We are modern, we want to appeal to the young generation who lives in the present.

But if you insist, I will accept the “selection” of the fittest is indeed our goal, the top fittest being these extraordinary billionaires

-entrepreneurs who create wealth huge wealth. Those who cannot make a living helping the billionaires are not worth living.

It is not a laissez-faire any longer but a laissez-mourir  .

Elon Musk is not interested the slightest by what will happen to those who were deemed to be “useless” by DOGE. He is in efficiency and not empathy. “We’ve got civilizational suicidal empathy going on, Musk said, borrowing the term from Gad Saad, a Canadian scholar who is also a frequent Rogan host. While Musk said he believes in empathy and that “you should care about other people,” he also thinks it’s destroying society. “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit,” Musk said. “There it’s they’re exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response. ”Empathy, he said, has been “weaponized.

Elon Musk wants to save Western civilization from empathy

QUESTION: Let's go back to alvin toffler his book was published at the same time as the meadow report.  i think the mentioned it only in footnote . today it is difficult to put climate changes in a footnote.  will you not even try to manage globally our geographical common good: the planet

ANSWER: Let's not politicize climate change

Before dying, Ayn Rand had the time to take on the defenders of ecology and the environment who begged The State to assume ownership of the exploitation of its resources. She saw it rightly as a manipulation of governments, intended to reduce freedoms and to pour into emotion at the expense of reason. In Against Environmentalism, she considers that ecology is a return of the religious and the irrational, while only technical progress can improve the human condition. "Urban smog and polluted rivers," she writes, "are not good for men (although they are not as dangerous as fearmongers. It is a scientific and technological problem - not a political problem - and it will only be solved using technology. And even if smog were a risk to human life, it must always be remembered that life in its natural state, without technology, is a death sentence. ” Freedom of growth remains our goal

QUESTION: Ayn rand died a long time ago. today you cannot possibly deny any longer that the planet is entering times of existential chaos. don’t you take any responsibility.

ANSWER: Why should we

Thanks to oil, agrobusiness, Monsanto, banks, billions of children were born and adults enjoy moments of good  life. It is not our fault if they were unable to manage their growth. Donald Trump is perfectly right when he tells some countries they are “shit holes” He does not owe them anything.

QUESTION: Global warming is not going to make any distinction between the poor and the rich, the deserving and the criminal. this is not argameddon. you are part of humanity whether you like it or not

ANSWER : Are you kidding? we are not. we are going to escape.

QUESTION: So douglas rushkoff was right when the wrote this after a meeting:

“These people once showered the world with madly optimistic business plans for how technology might benefit human society. Now they’ve reduced technological progress to a video game that one of them wins by finding the escape hatch. Will it be Jeff Bezos migrating to space, Thiel to his New Zealand compound, or Mark Zuckerberg to his virtual metaverse? And these catastrophizing billionaires are the presumptive winners of the digital economy – the supposed champions of the survival-of-the-fittest business landscape that’s fuelling most of this speculation to begin with.

The super-rich ‘preppers’ planning to save themselves from the apocalypse

ANSWER . Yes

First there is nothing we can do now. The planet is cooked.

But remember self-interest is our philosophy and we have the money to try to escape. Elon Musk is a bit extreme since he wants to escape to Mars but he shows some altruism since he will send instead of him a colony of humans. Before he will likely join us in a compound with his extended family.

QUESTION: Anything you want to say to all those left behind?

YES  I WILL SAY What Donald Trump, a superb specimen of animal spontaneously, will say : “SO LONG SUCKERS”

LAST QUESTION: You are drunk. do you realize what you just said

ANSWER : YES AND IT WAS DAMN GOOD. IN VINO VERITAS
